I started this blog 10 years ago by thinking I could share some technology inspired illustrations but lost my track of it due to multiple reasons. Recently I read a graphic novel and felt this is definitely something that I can share here. A real fit for Graffitoid kind of stuff. A mix of comic and technology and it is a quick review about that book.

Novel opens with story of Hugo, CEO of AI based company KLAI, and as they are about to secure a big deal from a giant tech company named REAL.E. Initially, the deal seems like a breakthrough for the KLAI, but then it slowly reveals the true intentions of the REAL.E. If a GPT kind of model falls into the wrong hands, what might happen? The authors take us to this dream world and shows us the good and bad of GPT models.
When I started this book, I thought it was a science fiction genre. After a few pages, I realized it isn't fictional; rather, it discusses real technologies of the current time. Through the initial chapters authors able to gave us good overview about NLP to LLM and GPT models to General purpose models. It demonstrate the importance of good prompt in ChatGPT like zero shot and few shot. By their words "The LLM needs good information and context for good result".
"It is no longer about boring Jobs alone" - your creative jobs and managerial jobs are on anvil now". Whether AI will take our job is real worry in our mind even though same is discussed in several web articles.
This book not only giving us an overview about tech behind AI, but also delves into its capabilities and sheds light on the potential negative impacts of AI.
When viewed as pure art, Appupen's illustrations are truly mind-blowing. Just look into following page and backdrop. It is really taking us to their world.
For me, real magic of this book is in final chapter, that show us practical experiment with AI. We will get feeling of how AI can be used for graphic novel like this or any art.
